It’s an icy winter morning in Australia’s southernmost state, and, moments after calling a local bookshop to arrange an interview, I’m walking through the door.
This ease is typical of life here, as is the fact I happen to know the staff member who answered the phone when I called. The temperamental weather is too, but, despite it, the door to the Hobart Bookshop is propped bravely open.
